Responsibilities:

Direct Patient Care:
-
Assist with activities of daily living (e.g., bathing, feeding, transporting, toileting, ambulating patients).
-
Maintain a safe and clean environment to support patient recovery, including safety checks, cleaning equipment, changing linens, and organizing patient rooms and hallways.
-
Distribute supplies and equipment to facilitate patient care, perform messenger functions, order and stock supplies, and set up patient care equipment.

Provide patient nourishments, fill water pitchers, and deliver patient mail.

Nursing Core Responsibilities:
-
Perform UPMC nursing core tasks including blood glucose monitoring, weights, vital signs, input/output (I&O), specimen collection, Foley care, ADLs, point of care testing, telemetry monitor application, HAC & PSI prevention, urine specimen collection, restraint placement and removal, and ticket to ride.

Report changes in patient status to the RN and provide feedback on patient care.
