This position is Casual with rotating shifts, holidays and weekends required.
4, 8, or 12 hour shifts available!
Title and salary will be determined based upon education and experience.
Responsibilities:
- Provides patient care, assists with procedures and daily activities. Assists with physical, respiratory, and cardiopulmonary therapies.
- Provides feedback to RN, reports changes in patient status.
- Performs core nursing assistant tasks: blood glucose, weights, vital signs, I&O, specimen collections, Foley care.
- Performs at least four additional tasks: phlebotomy, 12-lead EKG, simple dressing, Foley catheter removal, point of care testing, bladder scan, straight catheter, IV catheter removal.
- Reports equipment malfunctions, communicates with other departments. Establishes professional, respectful relationships.
- Contributes to unit activities: responding to call lights, phones, passing meal trays, transporting patients.
- Receives feedback, identifies learning needs, improves knowledge and skills. Provides patient and family instruction under RN direction, manages patient restraints.
- Communicates effectively with healthcare team, understands cultural diversity and workplace safety.
- Adheres to policies and procedures, complies with safety standards. Supports department changes, projects, and quality initiatives.
- Documents in medical records, performs clerical functions.
- Achieves and maintains competency in advanced skills: phlebotomy/venipuncture, peripheral IV removal, Foley catheter removal, basic arrhythmia, 12-lead EKG, NG tube clamping/removal.
- Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors. Performs other duties as assigned.
Salary : $18 - $27
