Join UPMC Western Maryland's High Level Care team as a Patient & Family Concierge, where you'll provide compassionate service and support to patients, families, and visitors. Your goal is to create a top-notch experience for everyone in the hospital, ensuring satisfaction and quality care from start to finish.
The High-Level Care Unit is a 28 bed step down unit specializing in trauma, strokes, peritoneal dialysis, and intermediate care. This part time position will cover the 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm shift, including every other weekend and holiday. The final candidate will be placed in the appropriate title and rate of pay based on years of experience. The minimum hourly rate for this role is $17.24.
Responsibilities:
- Destination Coordination: Greet patients and families warmly, provide directions, and escort them to their destinations. Share patient information appropriately, issue parking discounts, and assist with parking functions.
- Environmental Services: Keep patient rooms and public areas clean and organized. Change bed linens, replenish supplies, and report maintenance issues.
- Dietary Services: Assemble and serve meals according to dietary needs, maintain food safety, and deliver meal trays to patients.
- Transportation Services: Safely transport patients, equipment, and lab specimens. Maintain and disinfect transportation equipment.
- Supply & Equipment Management: Order and organize supplies, deliver materials to patient units, and monitor inventory and expiration dates.
General Duties:
- Answer unit phones and respond to call lights.
- Interact with patients, assess their needs, and ensure all areas are satisfactorily maintained.
- Adhere to hand hygiene and infection control procedures.
- Follow mandatory reporting procedures for any incidents affecting patient care.

- High School diploma OR active High School/GED program enrollment OR one year of previous job experience required in lieu of HS Diploma/GED.
- Previous experience in health care or customer service is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
