Join UPMC Somerset Family Practice as a Patient Services Representative!

In this role, you’ll warmly welcome patients, promote user-friendly technologies, and educate them on their financial obligations. You’ll also schedule follow-up appointments, connect patients to financial advocacy resources, and update their demographic and insurance information. Your strong customer service skills will ensure that patients and their families have the best experience at UPMC physician practices, hospitals, and outpatient surgery departments. This full-time role will work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and offers flexibility with start/end times of 8 AM to 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM to 5 PM.

During training, you'll primarily work out of the Somerset office and once trained, float to the Berlin office.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet all patients warmly.
  • Guide patients through self-arrival technology or check them in at the desk.
  • Collect copayments and other applicable payments at the point of service.
  • Confirm or update patient registration information at checkout.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments and connect patients to ancillary services.
  • Help patients navigate the healthcare system with clear instructions.
  • Register patients in the Biometrics program and explain its benefits.
  • Promote and assist with MyUPMC patient portal registration.
  • Confirm insurance benefits and obtain consent signatures following HIPAA rules.
  • Assist with administrative duties like scanning medical records and faxing.

Salary : $18 - $27
