Responsibilities:
- Greet patients warmly and guide them through self-arrival technology or check-in based on preference.
- Collect copayments and applicable patient payments at the point of service.
- Confirm or update patient registration information and schedule follow-up or ancillary appointments at checkout.
- Help patients navigate the healthcare system with clear and understandable instructions.
- Provide follow-up to unresolved patient questions to ensure continuity of care.
- Register patients in the Biometrics program and explain its benefits.
- Promote and assist with MyUPMC patient portal registration.
- Educate patients on financial responsibilities and connect them to advocacy resources as needed.
- Verify insurance benefits through online systems or phone and obtain necessary patient signatures for consent.
- Distribute or triage phone calls appropriately and assist with office administrative tasks such as scanning and faxing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
