In this role, there is the opportunity to -
- Interpret physician orders and prescriptions to prepare and dispense accurate medication dosages in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Identify and report suspected adverse drug reactions promptly and accurately to ensure patient safety.
- Sustain the formulary by minimizing non-formulary procurements and promoting rational drug therapy selections.
- Review and screen patient medication records for allergies, drug interactions, and therapeutic duplications during order verification.
- Organize daily pharmacy operations and supervise pharmacy technicians, interns, and ancillary personnel involved in pharmaceutical care.
- Adhere to all regulatory and professional standards, ensuring quality pharmaceutical care and hospital compliance.
- Communicate with physicians and nurses to resolve unclear or incomplete orders for effective medication management.
- Provide drug information and educational programs to healthcare professionals and pharmacy students for continuous learning.
- Utilize advanced computer systems and technology to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of pharmaceutical care delivery.
- Prepare and dispense intravenous admixture solutions using aseptic techniques in sterile product preparation areas.
