In this role, there will be the opportunity to -
- Prepare sterile and nonsterile medications, including cytotoxic and hazardous drugs, using proper aseptic techniques.
- Procure and manage inventory levels in pharmacy medication stock rooms, automated carousels, and dispensing machines.
- Retrieve discontinued medications, returning and processing them per pharmacy protocols.
- Distribute medications, including emergency carts, cassettes, and controlled substances, in compliance with policies and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and secure storage of medications in compliance with regulatory guidelines (Department of Health, Joint Commission, State Board of Pharmacy).
- Assist in training pharmacy personnel and students, ensuring adherence to operational procedures.
- Comply with Federal and State laws (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA) and regulatory requirements such as CMS and PBM contracting.
- Maintain controlled substance records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Federal, State, and Department regulations.
