What are the responsibilities and job description for the Polysomnographic Sleep Tech position at UPMC?
The Carlisle Sleep Lab is looking for a new Polysomnographic Sleep Tech to join their growing and experienced team of Technicians.
This is an AASM accredited sleep center, with 6 beds. Currently open Monday through Thursday for nightshift.
Training Schedule: 40 hours per week. Normally three 12-hour shifts and one 4-hour shift. After training and passing the registry, it would then transition to three 12-hour night shifts.
Pay Scale: $21.70 - $32.58
Purpose:
Under the supervision of physicians and in the presence of a Registered Sleep Technologist (RPSGT, or RRT-SDS, or RST), the Polysomnographic Sleep Technician (Poly tech) is responsible for performing patient care duties and providing customer service to clients of the sleep center, while completing the ASTEP program and on-the-job training.
Responsibilities:
- Must enroll and complete the ASTEP program within 1 year of hire.
- While under direction of senior sleep lab staff according to department policy and procedure:
- Prepare patients for sleep testing.
- Educate patients on sleep lab testing procedure.
- Analyze and score sleep studies.
- Perform therapeutic treatments and interventions.
- Inventory and restock lab supplies.
- Clean equipment and patient rooms.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complete monthly ISR as a training scorer.
- Attend monthly staff meeting and required department/facility training.
- Performs duties in accordance with system-wide competencies and behaviors.
