UPMC Presbyterian is seeking a Pulmonary Technologist II to join our team on a full-time basis in the Falk Medical Building!
This position is 40 hours a week, 8-hour daylight shifts, with no weekends or holidays required!

- Qualified Exercise Physiologists and Respiratory Therapists will also be considered and are encouraged to apply!
Responsibilities:
- Performs all pulmonary diagnostic testing per department protocols
- Performs cardiopulmonary stress testing.
- Responsible for comprehensive bronchoprovocation challenge testing procedures.
- Performs exercise desaturation and home oxygen evaluations. Also obtains arterial blood gas and hemoglobin samples.
- Maintains and calibrates diagnostic equipment. Applies basic troubleshooting skills and makes minor adjustments to the equipment when necessary.
- Provides cross coverage into pulmonary rehab as requested.
- Prepares for and responds to emergencies consistent with departmental guidelines.
- Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must be credentialed by the NBRC as a Certified or Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist, OR certified as an Exercise Specialist or Exercise Physiologist by the American College of Sports Medicine, OR credentialed by the NBRC as a Respiratory Care Practitioner with one year experience in pulmonary diagnostic testing; OR equivalent with a demonstrated proficiency in all procedures offered by the Department.
- Must obtain CPFT credential within 2 years of hire.
- BLS certification required.
- ACLS certification must be obtained within one year.
- Must be able to interact with unstable patients and operate complex medical electronic equipment.
- CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
