This vital role offers 12-hour shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM, with weekends and holidays required.
As a Security Officer, you’ll play a key role in protecting UPMC’s hospitals, buildings, and grounds, responding to incidents, assisting with traffic control, and ensuring the safety of all who enter our facilities. In this role, there is the opportunity to -
- Monitor ingress and egress to secured areas by staffing fixed posts.
- Provide customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff to ensure a safe environment.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing parcels to prevent theft and unauthorized access.
- Respond to and resolve problems, disputes, and unusual situations promptly.
- Maintain required certifications and licensing to comply with industry standards.
- Assist with traffic control and provide vehicle assistance as needed.
- Transport deceased individuals to the morgue and release bodies per protocols.
- Patrol UPMC hospitals, buildings, grounds, and associated areas to deter criminal activity, document observations, and contact appropriate law enforcement if necessary.
Salary : $18 - $27
