Responsibilities:
- Representative of the company at industry events, member meetings and supplier venues
- Builds and mentors the sourcing and contracting teams to advance a world-class SCM organization
- Accountable for achieving financial targets and improving supply base performance with favorable contract terms that meet the needs of UPMC and internal constituents
- Works with other SCM leaders and suppliers to optimize supply chain efficiencies and mitigate supply and service risk.
- Provides leadership over the sourcing and contracting functions for assigned categories of spend
- Works cross-functionally to forge collaborative relationships with clinical, administrative, financial, and operational leadership to drive best practices
- Develops and cultivates mutually beneficial supplier relationships that ensure continuity of supply while maintaining unquestionable integrity
- Promote an internal and external (supplier) environment where continuous improvement is the goal
- Works with service line, operational, clinical, and functional leaders, and key employees to collaboratively develop strategies to meet economic and operations business requirements
