The Treasury Department at UPMC is hiring a Treasury Analyst to join our Cash Management team. This role will work Monday through Friday during business hours out of the US Steel Tower in Pittsburgh, PA with some work from home.
The Treasury Analyst will be responsible for managing the supply and movement of UPMC cash. The Treasury Analyst is a key member of the small team that ensures that UPMC's 250 bank accounts are set up with appropriate tools to minimize manual work and to minimize the risk of fraud. To succeed in this role, you must have knowledge of banking tools and software to be able to sweep cash, pay vendors, borrow/repay on line of credit, and reconcile transactions. As a Treasury Analyst, it is important that you have an awareness of business, economic and accounting changes and can effectively apply such changes to daily tasks. In this role, you will have extensive interaction with internal departments as well as bank and vendor partners. We are looking for someone with a high degree of professionalism, enthusiasm, initiative, and attention to detail.
The final candidate will be selected for a job title within the career ladder that reflects the level of education, experience, and manager discretion at the time of offer. Senior Level compensation is between $31.89-$53.71. Intermediate Level compensation is between $24.66-$42.57. Associate Level compensation is between $21.86-$36.31
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of budget items.
- Maintain cash forecast of over $6 billion / year for non-regulated UPMC entities. This requires frequent contact with various departments, and an ability to spot patterns and trends in large quantities of data.
- Expert at payment management, and able to select best payment method (check, ACH, wire, FX) for the business need. Understands the software of multiple banks to execute payments securely and accurately. Uses solid judgment to confirm the validity of internal authorization prior to payment execution.
- Performs various audit and SOX processes.
- Manage cash daily, ensuring sufficient funds to meet operating needs, and investing excess cash in accordance with policy. Borrow/repay on line of credit when warranted.
- Interpret financial transactions and events for users who must make economic or business decisions.
- Plan and conduct complex studies to determine cost of business activities. Recommend budget adjustments and other cost improvement measures.
- Fully trained to act as cash manager for regulated subsidiaries in the absence of the cash manager.
- Manage refund program for over 120 subsidiaries. This includes daily funding and accounting documentation, managing user access to online software, and training new subsidiary staff. Setup of new subsidiaries is required, including interaction with vendor and bank, testing, and move to production. Includes analysis of new payment opportunities (Zelle, same-day ACH, etc) and trending.
