Summary
The Sales Support Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the sales support team to ensure seamless coordination between Sales, Finance, Operations, and IT. The ideal candidate will have experience managing a team, a strong understanding of sales processes, and proficiency in Salesforce to manage sales orders and data. This role requires a strategic thinker with the ability to streamline processes and ensure compliance within the cannabis industry.
The Sales Support Manager will report to the Chief Information Officer
Essential Duties and Responsibilities includes, but is not limited to the following:
- Oversee the administration of sales orders using Salesforce, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Partner closely with Finance, Operations, Sales, and IT teams to resolve issues, improve processes, and support overall business objectives.
- Identify opportunities to streamline sales processes and enhance order management efficiency.
- Manage, coach, and develop the sales support team, ensuring performance standards and goals are met.
- Ensure compliance with all cannabis industry regulations and maintain accurate sales documentation. Provide regular reports and insights to stakeholders.
- Act as an escalation point for complex sales support inquiries, providing guidance and resolutions.
- Leverage Salesforce to optimize workflows and troubleshoot issues, working with IT to implement enhancements as needed.
Supervisor Responsibilities
Manages the Sales Support Department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications

- 2 years in a sales support, operations, or sales management role, ideally within the cannabis, regulated goods, or FMCG industries.
- Proven experience managing and mentoring a team.
- Proficiency in Salesforce; experience integrating sales platforms with other business systems is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
- Familiarity with California’s cannabis regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex issues.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred
- Knowledge of the cannabis industry
- Knowledge of supply chain operations
- Project management experience or certification.
Work Environment
This position operates onsite in an office environment with intermittent remote work upon approval from the supervisor.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, phones, and writing instruments.
Physical Demands
This is a sedentary position. To perform the required tasks of this position, a Sales Support Manager needs to have and/or be able to:
- Sit for prolonged periods at a desk and work on a computer.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, using a mouse, and handling office equipment.
- Regularly read and interpret data on a computer screen for extended periods.
- Regularly communicate via phone, video calls, and email, which may require clear speech, hearing, and the ability to convey information clearly.
- Occasionally stand, walk, bend, and reach within the office to access files or attend meetings.
- Occasionally lift or carry light items (e.g., binders, office supplies) up to 15 pounds.
