JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Burbank Early Childhood School Permanent Building Substitute
Reports to: Director of Burbank Early Childhood School
Employment Status: As Needed
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Rate of Pay: $16.40/hr.
Description: Supports the assistant and lead teachers with classroom
NOTE: The below lists are not ranked in order of importance
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Experience with groups of young children
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to work effectively with others
Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively both orally and in writing
Effective, active listening skills
Organizational and problem solving skills
Basic computer skills and excellent keyboarding skills
Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing situations
Student management skills
Essential Functions:
Provide classroom teacher coverage when the lead or assistant teacher is absent.
Assist classrooms with curricular activities when not needed to cover an absent teacher.
Attend and fully participate in all classroom functions and activities including but not limited to indoor & outdoor exploration, field trips, and other school-wide events (such as open houses, field trips, etc.).
Promote good social relationships between children.
Ensure safety of students.
Maintain respect at all times for confidential information, e.g., student records.
Interact in a positive manner with staff, students, and parents.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:

Establish and promote successful relationships among children and adults.
Contribute to a high quality classroom environment.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Regular requirement to sit, stand, walk, talk, see, read, speak, reach, stretch with hands and arms, crouch, climb, kneel and stoop
Employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance, use in the work place throughout his/her employment with the District.
