What are the responsibilities and job description for the ACT Vocational Specialist position at Upper Bay Counseling & Support Services, Inc.?
Upper Bay Counseling and Support Services (UBCSS) is seeking a full-time Vocational Specialist to work with an Assertive Community Treatment team providing services to adults in Cecil County who have a serious and persistent mental illness. Vocational Services will be provided using the Supported Employment Model. Services are tailored to meet client’s abilities and are provided in client’s homes, in the community, and in the office. Candidates must be able to work as part of a trans-disciplinary team of mental health professionals who coordinate care.
The following skills are needed: possess good integrity, judgement, and problem solving skills; ability to self-direct details of daily workflow while remaining organized; have computer literacy with the ability to document services using electronic medical records; have strong interpersonal skills both verbally and in writing; and the ability to give and receive feedback.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Sciences or 2 years of Professional Job Coaching experience preferred. Experience working on an ACT team is preferred.
Good interpersonal skills with emphasis on emotional maturity, written and oral communication skills.
A valid driver’s license and current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). CPR, Basic FirstAid, and Crisis Prevention Intervention training will be provided to newly hired employees, and must be completed within the designated time frame for continued employment. Certifications must be maintained and updates/changes in course requirements must be adopted positively.
