Machine Maintenance Technician III
Position Overview: The Maintenance Technician III plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of all bakery manufacturing equipment and facilities. This position is responsible for performing advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities to minimize downtime and optimize the production process. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills, with a focus on preventive maintenance and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Maintenance & Repair:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on bakery production equipment, including ovens, mixers, conveyors, slicers, and packaging machines.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Assist in the installation, modification, and upgrading of new equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols during maintenance activities.
- Preventive Maintenance Program:
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to ensure equipment longevity and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Conduct inspections and tests on equipment to identify potential issues before they result in failure.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and parts used.
- Troubleshooting:
- Quickly identify and resolve operational issues that impact the production process, including mechanical, electrical, and PLC-related issues.
- Work closely with production teams to troubleshoot problems and provide guidance for safe operation.
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to perform detailed diagnostics and determine root causes.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve equipment performance and production efficiency.
- Suggest modifications or upgrades to improve productivity and reduce downtime.
- Participate in the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all company and industry safety standards to ensure a safe working environment.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene practices in all maintenance operations.
- Assist in training other team members on equipment safety and proper maintenance techniques.
- Inventory and Parts Management:
- Monitor inventory levels of spare parts and equipment supplies, placing orders as necessary.
- Ensure parts are stored and organized for easy access when needed.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work with other technicians and departments to ensure that all production schedules are met without compromising on quality or safety.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior maintenance staff.
- Document and report all maintenance activities, including completed work and any parts used.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in a related field (e.g., Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a maintenance role, ideally within a manufacturing or bakery environment.
- Strong knowledge of bakery equipment and production processes is a plus.
- Proficient in the operation of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting and programming.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to urgent maintenance needs.

Physical Requirements:

- Must be able to work flexible hours and be on call when required.
Work Environment:
- Bakery manufacturing facility with exposure to machinery, heat, and noise.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 β 50 per week
