Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Warehouse Supervisor to join our team at Upper Crust Bakery. The Warehouse Supervisor will oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and accurate receipt, storage, and distribution of bakery ingredients, products, and supplies. This role involves supervising a team, managing inventory, and maintaining compliance with health, safety, and quality standards in a fast-paced bakery production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Warehouse Operations Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring timely receipt, storage, and shipment of bakery products and materials.
- Organize and prioritize work to meet production schedules and distribution timelines.
- Ensure proper storage of bakery packaging and ingredients, including compliance with food safety standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of the warehouse to maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety.
- Inventory Control:
- Manage inventory levels of packaging materials, ingredients, and dry storage.
- Track and record inventory movements.
- Perform regular stock counts and reconcile inventory discrepancies to ensure accuracy.
- Coordinate the ordering and replenishment of inventory items with purchasing, as needed.
- Team Supervision:
- Supervise, train, and develop a team of warehouse staff, including forklift operators.
- Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and ensure adherence to company policies and safety regulations.
- Foster a positive work environment, encouraging teamwork and collaboration.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all warehouse activities comply with local, state, and federal safety and food safety regulations.
- Implement and monitor safe work procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe lifting techniques.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements, shipments, and receipts.
- Report on warehouse performance metrics, such as stock levels, order fulfillment rates, and safety incidents.
- Assist with preparation for audits and inspections.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Oversee the maintenance of warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and shelving.
- Ensure equipment is regularly inspected and serviced to maintain operational efficiency and safety.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in logistics, business, or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience (3 years) as a warehouse supervisor or in a similar role, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and safety standards.
- Familiarity with bakery-specific ingredients and storage requirements is preferred.
- Experience with warehouse management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a hot or cold environment.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position, may require overtime during peak production periods.
