What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chemotherapy Infusion RN position at Upper Cumberland Cancer Care?
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse specializing in Chemotherapy to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in patient assessment, administering injections, and providing compassionate care to patients undergoing chemotherapy treatments.
Responsibilities:
- Administer chemotherapy treatments following established protocols
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions during and after treatment
- Educate patients and their families on chemotherapy procedures and potential side effects
-Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient’s condition
- Collaborate with oncologists and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Provide emotional support to patients throughout their treatment journey
Requirements:
- Valid RN license with experience in chemotherapy administration
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred, or completion of certification will be required within one year of employment.
- Knowledge of outpatient chemotherapy procedures and protocols
- Ability to perform patient assessments and provide personalized care
-Able to calculate medication doses, infusion rates, and admixture of chemotherapy medications
Monday - Thursday, closed on Friday
