Spring Musical Technical Director/Carpenter
Total Compensation: $2,400
Spring Musical Schedule: December 1, 2024- March 31, 2025
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Former experience working with middle school to high school aged students in a theatrical setting
- Strong ability and willingness to teach and mentor high school aged students who are interested in theatrical production
- Strong knowledge of theatrical practices, principals, and terminology
- Strong skills in theatrical drafting using AutoCAD or Vectorworks
- Strong theatrical carpentry and building skills
- Strong skills using power tools and saws
- Knowledgeable in theatrical rigging and scenery effects
- Former experience in scenery building shop
- Strong time management and communication skills
- Ability to change direction to suit the needs of the production
- Strong ability to multitask and delegate jobs
- Strong ability and willingness to collaborate with the creating team and designers
- Must have excellent perception of detail
- Build schedule to be discussed with Production Manager
- Must be available for load-in, technical rehearsals, and strike outside of build schedule
- Strong understanding of Google drive, sheets, docs and other word processing applications
- Must be able to meet the physical/sensory demands of the position
- including but not limited to climbing ladders, working at heights greater than 15 feet, lifting 50 pounds of equipment or supplies, operating motorized theatrical elements, and withstanding loud noises and sounds.
