What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Worker-Part-Time, Long Term Leave Replacement position at Upper Freehold School District?
QUALIFICATIONS: Possess a particular trade skill with ability to perform satisfactorily in other skills, i.e. strong plumbing background, mechanical,electrical repairs and pest contract. Black Seal Boiler License preferred but not required.
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Responsible for maintaining, repairing and constructing District equipment and buildings. Expectations below appear in priority order.
- Performs routine maintenance and repairs on district equipment/buildings to include HVAC, plumbing and electrical repairs.
- Performs electrical repairs to light ballasts, light switches, receptacles, fluorescent lamp lights, shorts in wiring and replacement of light bulbs. Must be able to work with hands/arms, above head for extended periods of time.
- Perform plumbing repairs on commodes, urinals, flush valves, faucets, washers, packing and drain lines. Must be able to work in tight quarters.
- Repairs, rebuilds and constructs district facilities as required.
- Responds to work order requests and emergencies promptly and efficiently.
- Uses tools and maintenance shop equipment and ladders safely and maintains them in safe operating condition.
- Maintains inventory of frequently used parts and materials for repair of buildings and equipment.
- Removes snow from parking lots, sidewalks and other areas; spreading salt; ensuring the district grounds are safe during inclement weather.
- Move furniture and/or equipment as required.
- Manage pest control issues.
- Assist custodial and security staff with special events set-up,clean-up and supervision.
- Substitute for custodial personnel as required.
- Help groundskeepers if needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Building and Grounds.
