Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced French as a Second Language (FSL) Instructor to join our team in Toronto. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in language instruction, a student-centered approach, and the ability to create an engaging and supportive learning environment for learners of various levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging French lessons tailored to students’ needs and proficiency levels.
- Develop and implement interactive and communicative teaching strategies to enhance language acquisition.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support learning goals.
- Adapt lesson plans and teaching materials to accommodate diverse learning styles.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and confidence.
- Stay up-to-date with best practices in second language acquisition and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Linguistics, French Studies, or a related field.
- Teaching certification (e.g., TESL, DELF/DALF certification, or equivalent) is an asset.
- Proficiency in French (native or near-native level).
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience teaching French as a Second Language to diverse learners.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to use technology and online platforms for lesson delivery (for hybrid/online teaching).
