Water Quality General Operations Support (Temporary)

Hourly Rate: $15-$18
(Assignment: Temporary position, up to fifteen weeks, possible ext.)

RESPONSIBILITIES
This is an entry level position that will learn on the job while working with experienced employees.
Responsibilities of the position include but is not limited to assisting operators with maintenance, cleaning, housekeeping duties, use fire hose to remove and clean debris, operating and monitoring treatment equipment that may include pumps, motors, rake arms, collect samples for lab analysis, perform tests on samples collected, collects and records data required for logbooks, troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment, changing clothes on presses, use high pressure washer and other similar labor intensive duties.
Must be able to handle physical requirements of position to include extensive walking, bending, stooping, climbing of stairs and ladders, lifting and carrying of up to 75 pounds. Must be able to follow verbal instructions and complete assigned tasks with intermittent supervision. Follow all safety rules and regulations and practices preventive safety measures. Ability to work in a dusty environment with exposure to hot, cold, or rainy weather. Ability to safely and effectively operate in a fast-paced production environment. Must have a positive attitude.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
Completion of high school or a GED is desired. General knowledge of occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions applicable to maintenance and repair work.
Training will be provided!
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This position is considered Full-Time, Temporary and does not offer UOSA benefits and/or paid holidays. Approximately 24 hours per week, days of the week and hours are flexible.
