Upper Peninsula State Bank, with offices in Escanaba, Gladstone, Iron Mountain, Marquette, and Houghton, Michigan is seeking a full-time Teller Supervisor/Customer Service Representative (CSR) for our Escanaba office.
The Teller Supervisor/CSR will primarily be responsible for Teller training as well as assisting in supervision of the day-to-day operations of the Teller line, working closely with and reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Retail Banking.
Previous Banking experience is required, and supervisory experience is preferred. This job does require occasional rotating Saturdays.
The role includes, but is not limited to, the following duties:
- Primarily responsible for the training and development of new Tellers
- Provide guidance and support to ensure all transactions are handled accurately and efficiently
- Maintain strong knowledge of internal controls, operational procedures, and policies
- Act as first-point of contact for basic Teller inquiries and questions
- Handle cash transactions, open new accounts, and provide backup CSR support
- Oversee daily balancing processes and assist as needed
- Review and submit Currency Transaction Reports
- Various reporting responsibilities
- Other duties as designated by the AVP – Retail Banking
Skills required for this position include:
- Leadership abilities to support and guide the Teller line
- Communication skills (written and verbal) - this position will work closely with all Retail staff, as well as the AVP of Retail Banking.
- Problem solving – this position will be a first point-of-contact for certain customer and Teller inquiries.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task as needed.
- The ability to develop a great rapport with customers
- A strong sales aptitude and aspirations to cross-sell bank products and services
- Familiarity with Microsoft products, especially Word and Excel
- An upbeat, positive, and optimistic attitude
