What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Wildland Firefighters position at Upper Pine River Fire Protection District?
NOW HIRING WILDLAND FIREFIGHTER POSITIONS
OPEN UNTIL FEBRUARY 8, 025
Seasonal Wildland crew members staff two engines (Type , Type ) for the wildfire season.
Crew can expect to provide initial attack and extended attack within the district and provide
resources to our neighboring mutual aid partners, including the USFS, State Land and BLM.
Crew must be prepared to leave home for extended periods of time while fighting fires on
regional and national assignments.
Wildland crew will also engage in several projects completing defensible space mitigation
projects within our district, which will require chainsaw work, chipping, and slash pile burning.
Applications are currently being accepted for those with the following qualifications:
ENG-B (Engine Boss) starting at $1.2/hr (FULL-TIME POSITION)
FF-I/ICT5 (Firefighter Type /Incident Commander Type ) starting at $7.5/hr (SEASONAL)
FF-II (Firefighter Type ) starting at $4.8/hr (SEASONAL)
- Those with S-12, EMT-B will receive favorable consideration
Applicants must submit copies of a current motor vehicle record (MVR), CERTS and master
record. Must also have a current driver’s license and the ability to pass a drug screening, WCT,
background check and a physical. Seasonal hires can expect to work a minimum of 0 hours per
week. Overtime will be expected throughout the fire season from April through October.
