Salary: starting - $31/hour - negotiable with experience & training

OVERVIEW
The Upper Sioux Police Department is currently accepting applications for full-time and part-time police
officers. We believe in engaging with the citizens we serve, and we are looking for the best and brightest
to join our community-oriented law enforcement team. To meet the challenges facing law enforcement
today, we welcome candidates from a variety of backgrounds, experiences, and talents to work in a small
dynamic community. Take home squads for applicants living in the Upper Sioux geographic service area.
The Upper Sioux Community Police Department will assist with housing needs for up to three months.
The surrounding communities have great housing markets and rental properties available!
Officers working with Upper Sioux Community will be a part of PERA and have the option to pay into an
existing 401K account or create one. The Upper Sioux will pay for all Officers MMPOA memberships, and
LELS Memberships.
Lateral transfers are encouraged to apply and will receive an elevated rate of pay based on qualifications
and experience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Must have a valid driver's license; AND
- Must be eligible to possess and lawfully use a firearm, and successfully qualify with a handgun and
- Must be P.O.S.T licensed or be eligible for licensing by the Minnesota P.O.S.T. board at the time of
hire. At the time of application, a resume, and a copy of your Minnesota P.O.S.T license, P.O.S.T.
eligibility letter or a letter addressing when Minnesota P.O.S.T eligibility can be expected must be
included with your application.

- The ability to communicate fluently in English, both orally and in writing.
- The ability to understand and follow detailed oral and written instructions.
- The ability to be mobile for long periods, including but not limited to standing, walking, running,
jumping, crawling, stooping, kneeling, crouching; and entering and exiting a vehicle several times
each day.
- The ability to work in changing environmental conditions including but not limited to exposure to
