Position : 1.0 Special Education Teacher (Long Term Substitute)
Location : Fort Couch
Anticipated Dates of Assignment : Effective immediately through the end of the 24-25 School Year
Summary :
Provide special education services through the implementation of IEPs, collaborate and communicate with students, family, and staff, and work as a team to support the unique needs of learners
Essential duties and responsibilities :
- Develop Individualized Education Plans, positive behavior support plans, and communicate with professionalism in all required compliance areas
- Implement Individualized Education Plans and have an understanding of special education process, procedures, and compliance
- Collaborate with the special education curriculum leader and district leadership to understand yearly roles and responsibilities as dictated by student need
- Partner with professional staff team members to support the students' academic and emotional needs through Individualized Education Plans
- Ensure that the classroom environment is conducive to learning while building a positive rapport with students
- Implement positive behavioral and effective classroom management strategies
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, school counselors, and administrators regarding student matters
- Follow district policy, guidelines, regulations and procedures, as well as, maintain confidentiality according to law and policy
