Position : Substitute Van Driver
Pay Rate : $18.00 per hour
SUMMARY
Drives school van to safely transport students over specified routes according to a time schedule. Ensure the well-being of the students / passengers and other drivers. Complies with all federal, state and local traffic regulations, as well as district policies and procedures to provide a safe positive environment for all students and staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned.)
- Drives a school van safely and professionally, including during inclement weather
- Performs and properly completes daily pre-trip and / or post-trip inspections;
- Complies with all traffic regulations and ordinances;
- Complies with District and Transportation Department policies and procedures;
- Participates in District mandated training;
- Communicates in an appropriate fashion with students, parents and staff;
- Prepares reports or memos, as required;
- Assists students on / off the school van, including students with developmental or physical needs;
- Maintains order on the school van;
- Cleans school vehicles vans interior and exterior.
