General Job Description:
Perform custodial duties for the district. During the school year, evening hours are 2:30pm-11:00pm. Non-school days and summer hours are 6:30am-3:00pm.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Performs custodial duties to protect and preserve buildings, equipment and furnishings.
- Exemplifies professionalism and fosters goodwill to enhance the career center’s image.
- Maintains open and effective communications. Serves as a reliable information resource.
- Pursues opportunities to enhance professional performance.
- Takes precautions to ensure safety. Initiates action to manage/eliminate risks.
- Performs other specific job-related duties as directed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED. Work skills substantiated by training and/or relevant work experience. An acceptable score on a pre-employment skill test may be required.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work that includes lifting/moving heavy items.
- Collects, records, and maintains data accurately. Applies basic mathematical concepts correctly.
- Displays flexibility, reliability, self-discipline, and a willingness to take on challenging tasks.
- Embodies high ethical standards and integrity. Accepts responsibility for decisions and conduct.
- Interacts confidently with others and displays a strong customer-service focus.
- Shows evidence of core computer competencies deemed appropriate at the time of hire.
- Works effectively with limited supervision. Manages tasks efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Meets all mandated health screening requirements.
- Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment. Able to successfully pass a BCI/FBI background check.
- Maintains compliance with drug-free workplace rules, Board policies, and other applicable procedures/guidelines.
Salary:
Appropriate placement on the Custodial/Maintenance Salary Schedule to be determined by education and experience. Salary will range from $39,333.00 ( Class III, Step 0) to $44,525.00 (Class III, Step 5). Base contract is 260 Days. Minimum workday is 8 hours per day exclusive of a lunch break . One-year contract with opportunity for renewal.

Performance Evaluation:
Job performance is evaluated according to policy provisions and contractual agreements adopted by the Upper Valley Career Center.
