General Job Description:
Plans/implements student learning experiences using a differentiated curriculum. Three positions in total are open. One position is
Explore, providing academic instruction to students with multiple disabilities. Two positions are Inclusion, providing S.D.I. in a co-taught setting. These positions do not involve writing of IEP’s.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Teaches classes/subject matter as assigned. Plans, organizes and implements appropriate lesson plans aligned with state standards/career center curriculum goals and Individual Education Plan (IEP) objectives.
Provides S.D.I. and data for progress monitoring.
Exemplifies professionalism and fosters goodwill to enhance the career center’s image.
Maintains open/effective communications. Serves as a reliable information resource.
Pursues opportunities to enhance professional performance.
Takes precautions to ensure safety. Helps manage/eliminate risks.
Performs other specific job-related duties as directed.
Qualifications:
Valid state department of education license/certificate as determined at the time of employment.
Meets Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators qualifications.
Displays flexibility, reliability, self-discipline and a willingness to take on challenging tasks.
Exhibits effective organizational, time-management and resourceful problem-solving skills.
Shows evidence of core computer competencies deemed appropriate at the time of hire.
Meets all mandated health screening requirements.
Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment. Able to successfully pass a BCI/FBI background check.
Maintains compliance with drug-free workplace rules, Board policies, and other applicable procedures/guidelines.
Salary:
Appropriate placement on the Certificated Salary Schedule to be determined by education and experience. Salary will range from $51,017.00 (Class II, Step 0) to $84,160.00 (Class V, Step 10). Base contract is 187 Days. Minimum workday is 7 hours per day exclusive of a lunch break . One-year contract with opportunity for renewal.

Performance Evaluation:
Job performance is evaluated according to policy provisions and contractual agreements adopted by the Upper Valley Career Center.
