What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Specialized Direct Support Professional position at Upper Valley Services?
Upper Valley Services (UVS) is one of Vermont’s designated non-profit agencies serving people with developmental disabilities and adults who are eligible for Adult Family Care.
UVS is seeking a kind, positive and patient Specialized DSP to work with an individual that enjoys art, engagement, music, ping pong and some summer outdoor activities. Staff will provide home, community and employment supports and will be working with a tight-knit team that has built in resources and expertise. Extensive training and shadowing opportunities will be provided, including de-escalation techniques and Therapeutic Options.
The ideal candidate:
- Will have a high capacity for self-regulation
- Will have strong communication and teamwork skills
- Will have experience with crisis or mental health needs as well
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
- Have availability for the following shift needs:
- Sunday 4 PM - Monday 4 PM (24 hours)
- Tuesday 8 AM - 4 PM (8 hours)
- Thursday 8 AM - 4 PM (8 hours)
Candidates will undergo a background check and must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation and auto insurance.
A $500 hiring bonus will be offered to the selected candidate at the time of hire and another $500 bonus after successfully completing 6 consecutive months in the position.
