Project Manager (Residential Remodeling) – Ithaca, NY

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and strategic High-Level Project Manager to lead complex residential remodeling projects from inception to completion. This role demands a proactive leader with a proven track record in managing budgets, schedules, and subcontractor relationships. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills, a deep understanding of construction processes, and the ability to foster strong relationships with clients, team members, and trade partners.​

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Execution

  • Oversee all phases of residential remodeling projects, ensuring alignment with company standards, client expectations, and contractual obligations.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Coordinate with design and sales teams to ensure project scopes are clearly defined and understood.
  • Monitor project progress, adjusting plans as necessary to accommodate changes and unforeseen challenges.​

Budget & Schedule Management

  • Establish and maintain project budgets, ensuring financial objectives are met or exceeded.
  • Create and manage detailed project schedules, coordinating with all stakeholders to ensure timely completion.
  • Identify potential risks to budget and schedule, implementing mitigation strategies proactively.​

Trade Partner & Subcontractor Coordination

  • Select, negotiate with, and manage subcontractors and trade partners to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to project timelines.
  • Foster strong relationships with trade partners, promoting collaboration and accountability.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess subcontractor performance and address any issues promptly.​

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and mentor project teams, including carpenters and laborers, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate project goals, updates, and expectations.
  • Provide performance feedback and support professional development opportunities for team members.​

Client Relations & Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, providing regular updates and addressing concerns promptly.
  • Ensure client satisfaction by delivering high-quality results that meet or exceed expectations.​

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all projects comply with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols on job sites to protect team members and clients.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and regulatory changes, adapting processes accordingly.​

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in residential remodeling project management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, budgets, and schedules effectively.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing diverse teams and subcontractors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused approach.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., BuilderTrend) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.​TraVek Remodeling

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Frequent standing, walking, reaching, climbing, and sitting.
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 60 pounds; occasional lifting up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to climb and work off ladders up to 30 feet and work at heights up to 40 feet.
  • Must be able to use a computer and see color.
  • Ability to travel to job sites daily and transport tools and materials efficiently.​
