Project Manager (Residential Remodeling) – Ithaca, NY
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and strategic High-Level Project Manager to lead complex residential remodeling projects from inception to completion. This role demands a proactive leader with a proven track record in managing budgets, schedules, and subcontractor relationships. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills, a deep understanding of construction processes, and the ability to foster strong relationships with clients, team members, and trade partners.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Execution
- Oversee all phases of residential remodeling projects, ensuring alignment with company standards, client expectations, and contractual obligations.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.
- Coordinate with design and sales teams to ensure project scopes are clearly defined and understood.
- Monitor project progress, adjusting plans as necessary to accommodate changes and unforeseen challenges.
Budget & Schedule Management
- Establish and maintain project budgets, ensuring financial objectives are met or exceeded.
- Create and manage detailed project schedules, coordinating with all stakeholders to ensure timely completion.
- Identify potential risks to budget and schedule, implementing mitigation strategies proactively.
Trade Partner & Subcontractor Coordination
- Select, negotiate with, and manage subcontractors and trade partners to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to project timelines.
- Foster strong relationships with trade partners, promoting collaboration and accountability.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess subcontractor performance and address any issues promptly.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor project teams, including carpenters and laborers, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate project goals, updates, and expectations.
- Provide performance feedback and support professional development opportunities for team members.
Client Relations & Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, providing regular updates and addressing concerns promptly.
- Ensure client satisfaction by delivering high-quality results that meet or exceed expectations.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all projects comply with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols on job sites to protect team members and clients.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and regulatory changes, adapting processes accordingly.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in residential remodeling project management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, budgets, and schedules effectively.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing diverse teams and subcontractors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused approach.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., BuilderTrend) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching, climbing, and sitting.

- Ability to climb and work off ladders up to 30 feet and work at heights up to 40 feet.

- Ability to travel to job sites daily and transport tools and materials efficiently.
