We are seeking a skilled and experienced Web Designer/Developer to support a government agency's Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP). This role is critical to the development, maintenance, and modernization of web-based platforms used to support applicants, reviewers, and administrators. The ideal candidate will have strong full-stack development skills and deep experience with federal accessibility standards and cloud-based deployment environments.
Position Type: Full-Time (Contingent upon award)
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of web platforms supporting the GRFP
- Develop responsive, accessible front-end interfaces in compliance with federal web standards
- Implement and maintain back-end systems for content management, data integration, and platform scalability
- Manage full DevOps lifecycle for Drupal-based CMS systems, including updates, patches, and deployments
- Support the migration and ongoing maintenance of NSF’s GRFP content to a .gov domain using Drupal CMS
- Ensure compliance with Section 508 and WCAG 2.0 accessibility standards
- Deploy and manage enterprise-grade web applications in cloud environments, preferably AWS
- Collaborate with project managers, designers, and content creators to ensure high performance and usability
- Minimum 5 years of experience in full-stack web development
- Strong expertise in both front-end (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and back-end technologies (PHP, MySQL, etc.)
- Proven experience with Drupal CMS, including custom module and theme development
- Hands-on experience in DevOps and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
- Proficiency in deploying web applications on cloud platforms, with preference for AWS
- Deep understanding of Section 508 and WCAG 2.0 accessibility compliance for federal websites
- Experience supporting government or large-scale enterprise web environments is strongly preferred
