What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Tech (MLT or MT) position at Upson Regional Medical Center?
Perform laboratory testing in 2 sections of the lab as a generalist on various body fluids, proficiency samples, correlation samples, and quality control material in accordance with all regulatory requirements. Receive specimens into LIS and ensure sample integrity. Report results in a timely manner and follow procedures for repeating, dilutions, referral for review and documentation of such actions.
Requirements: Successful completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology program, Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT) by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), AMT (American Medical Technologists) or AAB (American Associations of Bioanalysis) or equivalent.
