Job Summary
Assists providers /medical personnel in providing patient care, preparing patients for examinations, taking and recording vital patient data, performing standardized routine tests such as phlebotomy and patient specimen collection. Performs clinical, laboratory, and clerical support activities for primary care/ ambulatory office services. Works within Upstate’s EPIC EMR to dictate information to patients, document in their chart, and facilitate/ process prescription refills . The Medical Assistant exemplifies the Upstate mission. Vision and values and acts in accordance with Upstate policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
Completion of an approved Medical Assistant or Medical Office Assistant program or one year experience directly related to the medical field; Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills required.

Monday - Friday daytime hours
