What are the responsibilities and job description for the Radiology File Room Assistant position at Upstate Medical University?
Job Summary
This position will act as a the File Room liaison for Radiology attendings and residents. Will answer telephones and respond to
inquiries via telephone or email. Will greet patients at the File Room counter and assist them with their radiology imaging needs. Will be
responsible for administrative tasks such as incoming faxes and emails. Responsible for uploading images from cloud-based systems
and Healthy Connections. Upload image CDs to PACS. Have knowledge of image exchange, HIE, Release of Information and
HIPPA Privacy laws. Will rotate to and provide back-up coverage as needed to the Community Campus File Room staff.
Minimum Qualifications
Associates degree and 2-3 years relevant experience preferably in a health care setting; or, equivalent combination of education and
experience. Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities, have excellent communication and computer skills. Ability to work
independently, medical terminology, knowledge of hospital information systems (EPIC/PACS) and Microsoft office preferred.
Work Days
40 hrs/week; Evening Shift. Specific days/hours to be determined. Will be required to work weekends and holidays on a rotational basis. Overtime may be required based on departmental needs.
