- Schedules appropriate procedures/surgeries per providers order and knowledge of operating room scheduling policies and procedures. Will need to coordinate co-surgeries with multiple providers and surgical assistants as necessary.
- Utilizes clinical knowledge to review all pretesting results. Notify primary care, surgeon, and care team of any abnormal results. Ensures proper follow up testing is ordered and completed as necessary.
- Calls post-operative patients to determine assess their pain level and status.
- Executes prescribed treatments and medical interventions, and monitors and documents treatment progress and patient response. Refers to/consults with physicians, other health providers to prevent/resolve problems or concerns. Educates patients and families about health status, health maintenance, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
- Obtains insurance authorizations for medical procedures and completes medical disability forms.
- Participates in multidisciplinary teams including clinical and administrative staff to improve patient care processes and outcomes.
- Participates in multidisciplinary conferences with surgeons i.e. tumor and vascular conference.
- Answers patient questions via telephone and EMR, triages patient signs and symptoms as necessary.
