What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Work- Syracuse City School position at Upstate Medical University?
Job Summary
This Social Work position will be located within a Syracuse City School to offer consultation and referral services to address the psychosocial needs of students and their families. Using a wide range of interventions and treatment modalities, the Social Worker contributes to the achievement of optimum health, satisfaction, and cost-effective care by addressing the behavioral, social, and environmental issues that may impede care.
Minimum Qualifications
L.M.S.W., L.C.S.W. or eligible, 3 years relevant post-master's experience (preferably in a hospital and/or healthcare environment) required. New M.S.W. graduates who are L.M.S.W. eligible will be considered for appointment to entry level (SL2) position at a commensurate salary after obtaining a Limited Permit. Incumbent must obtain L.M.S.W. within 12 months of receipt of limited permit.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with school-based populations primarily focused on BIPOC children & adolescents.
Experience consulting with the school about students who are presenting with psychosocial needs and goals to meet those needs
Demonstrated experience in working with BIPOC through training, research, and clinical work.
