What are the responsibilities and job description for the Speech and Language Pathologist position at Upstate Medical University?
Job Summary
This position will provide direct patient contact for assessment of swallowing, feeding, speech, and language disorders covering the spectrum of outpatient diagnoses including head and neck cancer, chronic airway disorders, and related disorders covering the spectrum from pediatrics to geriatrics. Will provide a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for speech, language and swallowing in an Otolaryngology practice.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's Degree in Speech Pathology, NYS licensure, clinical certification in Speech Pathology (or its equivalent) and completion of one year of clinical fellowship required. CPR/BLS certification required at time of appointment. Previous experience with adult Otolaryngology patients.
Preferred Qualifications
Prefer 3 years experience evaluating and treating adult head and neck cancer patients, laryngectomy patients as well as tracheostomy patients. Previous experience working with residents in a teaching institution preferred.
