Job Overview: Upstate Pool Management is seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to serve as the Pool Manager at The Country Club of Spartanburg. In this role, you will be responsible for managing pool staff, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for patrons, and maintaining high standards of customer service. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the pool, including staff supervision, scheduling, customer relations, and safety compliance. The position does not involve hands-on pool maintenance or operational tasks but will require strong leadership and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage a team of lifeguards, and other pool staff.
- Schedule staff shifts to ensure adequate coverage during operating hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Monitor and enforce pool safety protocols, ensuring compliance with all safety standards and regulations.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and concerns in a professional and timely manner, ensuring a positive experience for all pool patrons.
- Maintain accurate records related to staff attendance, incident reports, and pool usage.
- Monitor the general condition of pool facilities and communicate maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate department.
- Enforce pool rules and regulations to ensure a safe and family-friendly environment.
- Act as a point of contact for pool-related issues and emergencies when the Supervisor or other leadership is unavailable.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 20 years of age.
- Strong swimming skills and ability to swim proficiently.
- Current lifeguard certification or willingness to obtain certification by May 1, 2025.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of managerial or supervisory experience, preferably in a recreational or customer-service environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage a diverse team.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Knowledge of pool safety regulations and procedures.
- Ability to remain calm and take appropriate action during emergency situations.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a public recreation or aquatic facility management role.
- Experience with scheduling a team of employees.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Primarily an outdoor work environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and move around the pool facility as needed.
- Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical ability to respond quickly to emergencies when required.
Compensation:$20-$25/hour, based on experience.
