Job Summary:
The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist at Upstate University Hospital plays a vital role in providing high-quality diagnostic procedures and ensuring adherence to ACR standards and NYS Radiation Safety Guidelines. Collaborating with Radiologists, Physicists, and Radiation Safety, this team member will ensure that all equipment, policies, and procedures are up-to-date and compliant.
To be successful in this position, candidates should possess an AAS in Radiologic Technology or equivalent, along with a valid NYS license/registration in Nuclear Medicine (obtained within 6 months of limited permit). Additionally, they should be Registered with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), also obtained within 1 year of appointment.
One year of experience as a radiologic technologist is required, plus current CPR-BLS certification by the time of appointment.
Candidates who meet the minimum qualifications will be considered for appointment to a regular position. Preferred Qualifications:
A BS in Nuclear Medicine Technology is preferred, along with a valid NYS license/registration in Nuclear Medicine. Registration with NMTCB or ARRT is also highly desirable. A minimum of 3-5 years of progressive technical experience is required.
Work Schedule:
This full-time position requires working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with specific hours to be determined. The selected candidate will be required to work weekends and holidays on a rotational basis, with overtime possible based on departmental needs.
