What are the responsibilities and job description for the PAS Emergency Department Team Leader position at Upstate University Hospital?
Job Summary :
This position is responsible for assisting in the management of the day to day activities of the Emergency Room 24 / 7 operation at the Community Campus and Downtown Campus. Assist with the development of guidelines for staff assignments and rotations, evaluate effectiveness and modify work activities of staff as needed. Emergency Department registration operations including ensuring appropriate staffing (24 / 7), approval of time off requests and time sheet completion. Monitor and evaluate registration data quality and provide feedback and education to registration staff. Using tact and diplomacy, often under stressful conditions, will act as first line of contact for patients and families. Will provide guidance and support to staff and facilitate open lines of communication with staff, the health care team, patients and families.
Minimum Qualifications :
Associates degree and three years of relevant health care experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with diverse patient populations in a stressful environment required. Prior supervisory experience required. Candidates who do not currently possess CHAA will be given a temporary appointment and will be required to obtain certification within 2 years of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications :
Registration and customer service experience preferred. Certified Healthcare Access Associate CHAA (or eligible) preferred.
Work Days :
Mon-Fri 11 : 00 am - 7 : 30p with rotation weekend and holidays.
