Job Summary

As a Lead Developer in cloud data ecosystem, you will be part of a team of skilled individuals who pride themselves in their breadth of knowledge, and positive attitudes. You will play a lead role in building the Colas ISS Data and Reporting Structure, leading team initiatives and leading the design, development and support of data architecture, database design and integration, transformations, and load processes.

Main Responsibilities

  • Working with management and leadership to effectively deliver the roadmap and vision for the department and organization.
  • Lead development team, both internal and external, and coordinate with other teams (project manager, business analysts) for the full business cycle of related projects.
  • Works with teammates to drive the performance of goals on both the individual and team level.
  • Works with manager to develop goals for team members to align to departmental objectives and skill development, this will include peer review on progress.
  • Runs effective and timeboxed stand-ups, delivering notification of roadblocks to manager and / or stakeholders.
  • Performs analysis, develops and evaluates data mining in a data warehouse environment to include data design, meta-data, and repository creation, with emphasis on data accuracy.
  • Triages and assigns work based on team skills, using knowledge of team member skill levels and uses stretch assignments to help build skills when and where needed.
  • Maintains knowledge of software tools, languages, scripts, and shells that effectively support the data warehouse environment in different operating system environments.
  • Possesses working knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems (DBMS) and data warehouse front-end tools.
  • Extensive knowledge of data warehouse, DataMart and datalake concepts and working knowledge of Databricks, NoSQL Databases and ETL processes.
  • Performs data analysis to design and develop appropriate design models for warehouse and analytics.
  • Collaborates with team to establish data architecture design.
  • Works in partnership with database administrators to implement physical data model into high performing databases.
  • Troubleshoots and provides technical leadership in the use and understanding of existing data warehouse applications

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 7 years in full-stack Microsoft BI development (SQL Server / SSIS / SSRS and Power BI).
  • 2 years of experience leading up to 5 developers.
  • Data integration and tools.
  • Complex data analysis.
  • Database warehousing and business intelligence.
  • Trends and developments in business intelligence practices and related technologies, operating systems and application development.
  • Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, and task prioritization.
  • Production support experience utilizing effective communication and troubleshooting skills.
  • Business intelligence services for analytics, reporting and data transformation.
  • Strong written and verbal communicator.
  • Acts responsibly and holds themselves accountable for their actions.
  • Takes the initiative to fill whatever need they see.
  • Treats everyone with respect and is a model of integrity.
  • Is a quick learner and problem solver

  • Vendor management.
  • Microsoft SSAS
  • 2 years of experience Spark and / or Python.
  • JD Edwards ERP
  • CosmosDB & MySQL
  • Understanding of FinOps
  • Education Requirements

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and at least 2-5 years of experience
