Position Summary:
Our Client is searching for a Controller who will oversee and manage all aspects of accounting and controllership functions. Reporting to the CFO, this individual must demonstrate a strong ability to interpret and apply accounting principles in accordance with US GAAP, provide meaningful reviews and feedback on a broad array of matters and possess excellent project management skills.
Position Responsibilities:
- Perform and manage the monthly financial reporting close process to ensure that financial transactions are properly captured, complete and accurately reported and compliant with US GAAP
- Oversee and lead financial statement audit with external auditor
- Provide technical accounting expertise in SaaS and healthcare revenue recognition topics under ASC 606 including variable consideration, multiple element arrangement considerations, timing of revenue recognition, gross versus net accounting treatment and accounting for new products and features
- Provide technical accounting expertise in other accounting areas including share-based compensation, ASC 842 leasing, capitalized expenses, internal use-software, judgmental
- estimates and reserves
- Write technical accounting memos related to topics noted above or new relevant accounting topics
- Prepare financial statements including footnotes and supporting schedules
- Manage user support and administration for Sage Intacct, Bill.com, Brex, JPMorgan Access including maintenance of chart of accounts, account mapping, posting journals, training, application changes and new functionality
- Oversee and manage annual SOC 1 audit
- Continually evaluate system processes across the organization and lead projects to streamline and improve internal and external reporting by engaging with business users to stay informed of possible changes in accounting and reporting requirements and / or changes in the structure of the business
- Lead the internal process and external support for annual audits, quarterly reviews, tax filings, state registrations etc.
- Ad hoc projects as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Undergraduate bachelors degree, with record of strong academic performance in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics of other quantitative fields.
- 8 years of accounting leadership experience
- CPA License
Preferred Qualifications:
- Big Four certified public accounting firm experience
- Prior PBM / PBA / healthcare / SaaS experience
- Strong system skills preferred such as ERP system roll-outs and/or scaling system
