Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts and heavy equipment to facilitate the efficient movement of materials within our facility. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and a commitment to safety while performing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts, including cherry pickers and pallet jacks, to load and unload materials from trucks and storage areas.
- Safely transport materials throughout the warehouse while adhering to all safety protocols.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on forklifts and other heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Utilize RF scanners for inventory management, ensuring accurate tracking of materials.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to coordinate the flow of goods and assist in inventory control.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to company standards for safety and efficiency.
- Assist in building pallets and preparing shipments for delivery as needed.
Experience
- Previous experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation is advantageous.
- Familiarity with materials handling processes and best practices is essential.
- Experience working with RF scanners and inventory management systems is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated in completing tasks independently.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
