Uptown Cheapskate is currently searching the market for Retail Resale Buyer Trainees. Do you have what it takes to join our elite team? Uptown Cheapskate is a buy, sell, trade fashion store for young adults. We offer a change of pace from traditional fashion retail by adding the buying element into the usual retail setting. Must be available weekday shifts and able to work some nights and weekends. Looking for someone with leadership potential, strong work ethic, good work attendance and a positive attitude. Retail lead experience and open availability is highly desired. Depending on experience starting pay ranges between $15-$16 fulltime. Looking for several lead buyers. These positions are fulltime positions for the right candidate or candidates and will also provide 20 days paid time off for fulltime candidates after 30 days of employment. Responsibilities will include :
Participate in buying gently used brand name clothing, accessories and shoes from customers
Providing excellent customer service through brand and style knowledge
Be capable of correctly and efficiently process clothes for placement on the sales floor
Be able to train and mentor new employees and be willing to oversee the team to maintain maximum efficiency.
Be capable of utilizing a point of sale systems and capable of problem solving in store issues when they arise.
Be willing and able to direct the remainder of the team to allow for smooth and efficient operation of this high volume store.
Participate in visual merchandising of store and overall appearance
Assist with social media postings and / or shoots.
Be able to perform opening and closing duties and oversee the team in the absence of the store owner and / or manager.
Must understand this is a fast paced environment. Must understand the urgency of the buying and processing processes and be able to perform and direct both in a manner that promotes store sales growth.

Must love fashion and have a strong interest in seeking out and learning current fashion trends!
Amazing organizational and multitasking abilities.
Demonstrates good work ethic even in the absence of management oversight.
Exceptional customer service skills. Retail and management / lead experience a plus but not necessary. Experienced resale buyers encouraged to apply.
Strong communication and employee management skills.
Energetic upbeat outlook and ability to work well with others.
Ability to act in a professional and respectful manner towards customers, coworkers and management.
Desire to have a career and grow with the company
This is a fulltime opportunity for those available days, evenings and weekends. Coverage will be shared with other leads. with paid vacation for the fulltime candidates.
Must understand the importance of work attendance as it relates to this position as leads will be responsible for keeping the store open and operating at all times. Looking for only employees with strong attendance records at previous jobs.
Must take personal ownership in all aspects of the operations of the store.
Lead pay is structured based on which role is performed previous resale buyer experience, experience within our organization, availability, and general job performance.
