Responsibilities
- Manage the overall operations of the produce department, ensuring optimal product presentation and quality.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and maintaining stock levels.
- Utilize retail math to analyze sales trends and make informed decisions regarding product placement and promotions.
- Train and develop team members to enhance their skills in customer service, product knowledge, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless store operations and customer satisfaction.
- Implement effective sales management strategies to achieve departmental goals.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the produce area in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with staff and customers to address inquiries or concerns regarding products.
Requirements
- Proven experience in store management or as an assistant manager in a retail environment, preferably in the produce sector.
- Strong understanding of retail math principles and experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with customers and team members.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- A passion for fresh produce and commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
- Previous experience in training development is a plus.
