Job Description: As the Dog Daycare/Lodging Manager at Uptown Paws, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of our facility. You will lead a team of dedicated caregivers, ensure the safety and well-being of the dogs in our care, and maintain a positive and enriching environment for both dogs and staff.
Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Manage and lead a team of dog caregivers, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure exceptional care for all dogs.
- Daycare Operations: Coordinate and supervise daily activities, including playtime, feeding, and rest periods, while ensuring all dogs are engaged and happy.
- Customer Interaction: Interact with pet owners to understand their needs, address concerns, and provide updates on their dogs' experiences.
- Health and Safety: Implement and enforce health and safety protocols to maintain a clean and secure environment for all dogs.
- Staff Scheduling: Develop and manage staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage to meet the needs of our clients.
- Quality Control: Regularly evaluate the quality of care provided, address any issues, and implement improvements as needed.
- Administrative Tasks: Manage paperwork, records, and reports related to dog intake, scheduling, and customer communication.
- Marketing and Growth: Contribute to marketing efforts, including social media updates, community events, and promotions, to attract new clients and enhance the business's reputation.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a leadership role in the pet care industry, such as a dog daycare, pet boarding, vet or animal shelter.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with staff and clients.
- Passion for animal care and a deep understanding of dog behavior, health, and needs.
- Ability to handle dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments safely and confidently.
- Organizational skills to manage schedules, staff, and administrative tasks.
- Problem-solving abilities to address unexpected situations and ensure a positive experience for dogs and clients.
- Proficiency in basic computer software for record-keeping and communication.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications in animal care or management are a plus.
