About the Opportunity: 
This is an opportunity for a dynamic and innovative Regional People Relations Manager to join our client's Human Resources team. This role focuses on managing employee relations, fostering a positive workplace culture, and enhancing employee engagement through proactive initiatives.

Our client is a regional real estate company that develops, builds, markets, and invests in a diversified range of real estate.  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Must be willing to travel regularly to New Jersey and Pennsylvania sites 
  • Conduct thorough and objective investigations into employee concerns and workplace issues
  • Approve Disciplinary Action Forms and ensure alignment with company policy
  • Analyze policy trends and provide recommendations for updates or improvements
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, offering guidance to managers on performance management, coaching, and disciplinary actions
  • Analyze data to identify cost and policy implications related to negotiations, disputes, or other mitigating circumstances
  • Conduct surveys, interviews, and research on HR policies and employment issues; make actionable recommendations
  • Research and explain employment laws and legal matters to managers and employees
  • Oversee employee discipline and terminations in compliance with company policy
  • Lead the development and publication of the employee handbook; facilitate training sessions and informational meetings
  • Implement and evaluate employee engagement and retention initiatives, including incentive programs, stay interviews, career development meetings, employee surveys, and exit interviews
  • Stay updated on trends, developments, and best practices in employee retention, morale, and productivity
  • Collaborate with legal counsel, safety, health, and environmental managers on workplace issues and compliance
  • Provide support to HR generalists, management, and staff on sensitive HR matters
  • Greet new hires on-site, ensuring a positive and welcoming onboarding experience
  • Promote and attend special events, reporting on corporate milestones and activities
  • Generate HR reports on attendance, new hires, and turnover as needed
  • Provide HR policy guidance, interpretation, and compliance assurance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Maintain knowledge of multiple HR disciplines, including compensation practices, diversity, and performance management

Qualifications:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Deep understanding of labor laws and regulations
  • Proficient in negotiation and dispute-resolution techniques
  • Strong critical thinking, conflict mediation, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to remain calm and persuasive in high-pressure situations
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills

Education and/or Experience:       

  •       Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Employee Relations, Business Administration, or a related field required
  •       Minimum of 5 years of HR experience with a focus on employee relations
  •       SHRM-CP certification required
  •       Coaching certifications are a plus
  •       Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion

  •       Skillful in understanding and following both simple and complex instructions, as well as professional correspondence and memos
  •        Proficient in crafting professional-level correspondence
  •        Able to communicate information effectively in one-on-one interactions with colleagues and other team members in a friendly and inclusive manner 

Reasoning Ability:       

Ability to apply common sense understanding to conduct detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to manage conflict and communicate effectively in a clear and concise manner.

 

Physical Demands: 

·       Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

·       Must be able to move 15 pounds at times

·       Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities

Compensation:

$95,000 - $115,000
