Position Overview
This isn't your typical finance role. As a Finance Operations Analyst, you'll be at the intersection of traditional accounting and technological innovation. While you'll handle day-to-day financial operations, you'll also be instrumental in automating these very processes, working directly with our engineering team to build scalable solutions. Think of it as being both the expert user and the product visionary.
What You'll Do
- Own end-to-end logistics accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness while identifying automation opportunities
- Partner with software engineers to translate your financial expertise into automated solutions
- Design and implement new operational workflows that scale
- Analyze complex financial data and resolve exceptions that require human judgment
- Create detailed process documentation that serves both current operations and future automation efforts
- Act as a bridge between our technical team and accounting operations, speaking both languages fluently
- Provide insights that shape our product roadmap based on hands-on operational experience
What We're Looking For
- 2 years of experience in accounting, finance operations, or related field
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
- Natural problem-solver who can think systematically about complex processes
- Tech-savvy professional comfortable learning new software systems quickly
- Strong Excel skills and data analysis capabilities
- Excellent communicator who can explain complex concepts to different audiences
- Meticulous attention to detail while maintaining big-picture perspective
What Will Set You Apart
- Experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain finance
- Experience with RPA tools like UIPath, Power Automate, etc.
- Familiarity with SQL, Python or other programming languages
- Knowledge of ERP and accounting systems, particularly in logistics or transportation
- Familiarity with TMS systems like McLeod, Descartes, Tai, Revenova, MercuryGate, Oracle Transportation Manager (OTM), etc.
- Track record of improving or automating business processes
- Project management experience
- Understanding of API or EDI integrations and financial software systems
