Job Overview
Uranium Energy Corp is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a research or industrial laboratory setting and possess a strong foundation in laboratory procedures. This role is crucial for supporting scientific research, conducting quality control, and ensuring the accuracy of laboratory results.
Responsibilities
- Provide accurate, dependable analysis of uranium concentrations from the wellfield through yellowcake utilizing ICPMS.
- Provide accurate, dependable analysis of elution fluids and waste streams.
- Under the supervision of the Senior Chemist, provide maintenance and troubleshooting support for plant and laboratory analytical instrumentation.
- Provide analytical support to verify and track chemical concentrations in elution. Based on analyses, provide elution fluid makeup "recipes" and "precipitation sheets" for plant personnel.
- Under the overall direction of the Plant Senior Superintendent and the Senior Chemist, provide recommendations to operators on elution fluid makeup and uranium precipitations.
- Maintain and track supply equipment needs for the laboratory and inform the Senior Chemist of the inventory.
- Assist in quality control processes to ensure the integrity of laboratory results.
- Collaborate and maintain all analytical instrumentation and support ongoing projects.
- Assist with "Wellfield" sample analysis when needed in accordance with EPA and TECQ requirements.
- Provide backup RST support. Includes some advice to primary RST for the site.
- Maintain all GPL policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma and 5-7 years of laboratory experience.
- Preferred College diploma or university degree.
- Experience working in a laboratory environment, 1 to 3 years.
- Strong understanding of laboratory procedures and techniques.
- Familiarity with quality control processes in a laboratory setting.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good communication skills to effectively report findings and collaborate with colleagues.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office.
- Have a valid driver's license.
